Free Medical Care Day for Women in Charlotte offers Vital Health Services
Charlotte, NC – A free medical care day aimed at providing essential health services to women in the Charlotte area will be held, offering a range of screenings, treatments, and consultations. The event prioritizes access for those with incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty level.
This initiative addresses critical gaps in healthcare access for many women in the community, particularly those facing financial barriers. The event provides crucial preventative care, including screenings for cervical cancer (Pap smears), sexually transmitted infections, and urinary tract infections. Additionally, prenatal and postpartum consultations, ultrasound exams, and referrals for mammography will be available.Access to contraceptive methods,including intrauterine devices (IUDs),will also be provided.
Organized by Atrium Health, the event will feature bilingual personnel to assist Spanish-speaking patients and social workers to connect individuals with additional resources.
