BIDDINGHUIZEN – The Center for Sexual Health (CSG) of GGD Flevoland has announced the figures and results for the year 2022. The published fact sheet provides insight into the number of consultations, the detection rate of certain STIs and striking trends in the main risk groups.
The CSG offers help and advice to Flevolanders who run an increased risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and sexuality problems.
Increase in STI detection rate
An important finding from the report is the increase in the percentage of STIs found among young people in the regions of Noord-Holland and Flevoland. In the year 2022, the finding rate of gonorrhea increased from 5.8% in 2021 to 6.3%. This increase was also observed in Flevoland, where the gonorrhea finding rate increased by 0.9%. These figures are in line with the national trend of increasing gonorrhea infections among young people.
Sense conversations about sexual harassment
The CSG has also observed a striking increase in the number of sense talks about sexual harassment. Compared to previous years, more conversations were held in which people expressed their concerns about undesirable sexual situations. This emphasizes the importance of education and awareness about sexual boundaries and respectful behaviour.
