Celsius Energy Drink Cans Accidentally Filled with Vodka in Major Recall
US authorities are alerting consumers too a meaningful recall affecting Celsius energy drinks, specifically the Astro vibe Blue Razz edition. In a startling packaging error,some of these cans were inadvertently filled with vodka instead of the intended energy drink.
The mix-up occurred when a packaging supplier mistakenly sent empty Celsius cans to High Noon, a vodka seltzer company. High Noon then proceeded to fill these cans with their alcoholic beverage. Consequently, High Noon is also recalling certain Beach Variety packs produced on the same line.
The U.S.food & Drug Management (USFDA) issued the warning, emphasizing that no illnesses or adverse events have been reported in connection with the affected products. This recall impacts two specific production lots of Celsius Astro Vibe Blue Razz and High Noon Beach Variety packs.
The affected Celsius cans bear the retail code UPC 8 89392 00134 1 and lot codes ranging from L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to L CCB 02JL25 3:11.The lot codes are laser-marked on the bottom of the cans.
High Noon Beach Variety packs involved in the recall have the retail code UPC 085000040065 and lot codes L CCC 17JL25 14:00 to L CCC 17JL25 23:59, and L CCC 18JL25 00:00 to L CCC 18JL25 03:00. These products were distributed to retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin between July 21 and July 23.
the USFDA strongly advises consumers to dispose of the identified Celsius Astro Vibe energy drink cans and refrain from consuming the liquid.High Noon beach Variety packs with different lot codes are not part of this recall and are considered safe for consumption.
