Celine Dion Comeback: Singer Reportedly Returning to Stage in Paris

March 23, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Posters hinting at a return to the stage have appeared across Paris, fueling speculation that Celine Dion is preparing for a series of concerts this fall, according to reports from Montreal newspaper La Presse. The Canadian singer, who has been largely absent from performing since revealing her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome (SPS) in 2022, may perform two concerts a week throughout September and October at the Paris La Défense Arena, a venue with a capacity of 40,000.

Dion canceled her planned North American tour in 2022 after experiencing severe muscle spasms. The diagnosis of SPS, a rare autoimmune neurological disorder, initially appeared to preclude a return to performing. The condition causes progressive muscle rigidity and spasms, and can significantly impact vocal cords, as Dion detailed in her 2024 documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion.” She explained in the film that the condition had affected her voice for 17 years prior to diagnosis, sometimes forcing her to rely on audience participation or even subtly manipulate the microphone to mask her vocal strain. “Sometimes I would point my microphone towards the audience and I would build them sing it. There’s moments where I cheated and I tapped on the microphone, like it was the microphone’s fault,” Dion said in the documentary.

The potential comeback follows a performance last November where Dion sang “I’m Alive” and “The Power of Love” at the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, she delivered an emotional rendition of Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. These appearances signaled a willingness to continue engaging with music despite the challenges posed by SPS.

News of the possible Paris concerts comes as Variety and KHOU report that Parisians have spotted posters featuring lyrics from Dion’s signature songs, including “Power of Love” and “Pour Que tu M’aimes Encore.”

Representatives for Celine Dion did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and La Défense Arena has declined to comment on the reports. The singer has not headlined a concert since her Courage World Tour in 2020, which was ultimately postponed and then canceled due to her health concerns.
