Casablanca Investment Round: CAR President Thanks King Mohammed VI

Central African Republic Views Casablanca Roundtable as⁢ Pivotal for National Development

Casablanca, Morocco – Central African Republic (CAR) President Faustin-Archange‍ Touadéra ‍expressed profound ​gratitude to⁤ King Mohammed VI of ⁣Morocco for the support that contributed to⁤ the success of the recent investment roundtable held in Casablanca. The event, focused‌ on securing funding⁤ for the CAR’s National⁣ development Plan (PND) 2024-2028, successfully‌ mobilized $9 billion in pledges.

President touadéra, speaking at the ⁣closing of ‍the two-day event, stated that Casablanca⁢ would be “engraved in collective memory as a new stage in the transformation ⁣of ‌the Central ‍African Republic.” He emphasized ⁤the roundtable provided a ⁣crucial​ platform for the CAR ‌to articulate its vision for the future, demonstrating ⁣to ⁣the ⁤international community that ⁣the nation ‌is‍ not simply resource-rich, but also a hub of “resilience, innovation and opportunities.”

The primary goal ‌of‍ the meeting extended​ beyond financial ​commitments, according⁢ to President Touadéra. He highlighted ‍the ⁤importance of‍ building trust and forging a new era of​ cooperation with technical and ⁣financial partners. The CAR,he affirmed,is‍ committed to ⁤playing a significant role in regional and international‌ affairs. ​

The Casablanca roundtable, he concluded, represents “an alliance between the⁤ ambition ⁤of ⁤a people and⁢ the confidence of their partners.”

The ⁣closing‍ session was ‍attended by prominent figures ​including⁤ Omar Hilale, Morocco’s Ambassador and permanent Representative⁢ to the United Nations,⁣ and​ Mohamed ⁣Methqal, Director General of the​ Moroccan Agency for ⁢International Cooperation (AMCI).Representatives⁣ from various regional and international organizations, donor countries,​ and ‍the private sector ⁣were also⁣ present.
