Casablanca Police Seize Drugs, Arrest Suspected Trafficker
Casablanca – Moroccan authorities arrested a man in Casablanca on September 2nd, suspected of involvement in a drug trafficking network. The arrest,carried out by elements of the Directorate General for National Security (DGSN),followed intelligence gathering related to ongoing efforts by the Directorate General for the Surveillance of the National Territory (DGST) to disrupt narcotics trafficking.
A subsequent search yielded 7,650 medical tablets,962 grams of cocaine,an unspecified quantity of hashish,and a sum of money believed to be proceeds from illegal activity.
“The elements of the security challenged…a person in connection with an active criminal network in the dissemination of cocaine and diverted medical tablets,” according to an official statement.
the investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the seized drugs and identify any additional individuals involved in the criminal operation.
