Cardi B on Sold-Out Tour, Jimmy Fallon & Cutting Back on Twitter Fights | Rolling Stone
Cardi B is currently navigating a whirlwind of demands as her “Little Miss Drama” tour continues, culminating in sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 26. The rapper appeared on The Tonight Present with Jimmy Fallon to discuss the tour, her new haircare line, Grow-Excellent Beauty, and the logistical challenges of accommodating a vast network of friends and family eager to attend the New York City shows.
“This proves really exciting,” Cardi B told Fallon, but confessed to being “annoyed” by the sheer volume of ticket requests. “Everybody wants tickets—40 people from my mom’s side, 30 people from my dad’s side, all my friends, friends from high school, friends from the projects, friend from the Bronx, friends from Brooklyn. I’m so overwhelmed.”
The “Little Miss Drama” tour, Cardi B’s first headlining arena trek, launched in February and is scheduled to run through April 18 with two shows in Atlanta. The concerts are designed to be immersive experiences, with Cardi B prioritizing a party atmosphere. “I build sure that it’s like a party,” she explained. “If I could provide free liquor out I would. But I have to make some of the money back.”
A particularly daring element of the show involves Cardi B flying over the crowd, a feat she undertakes despite a pronounced fear of heights. “You just have to do it,” she said, framing the act as a necessary escalation for her performances. “You just gotta always be over the top, even if that means risking your own life.”
Beyond the tour, Cardi B discussed a shift in her public persona, revealing she is consciously reducing her engagement in online conflicts. “I reduced the time,” she told Fallon. “Before I would argue for like 13 hours.” This comes after a recent online feud with Nicki Minaj, which drew attention from figures like J.D. Vance, who publicly sided with Minaj, and prompted Cardi B to call out actions by Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security.
Cardi B’s latest album, Am I the Drama?, released in September, features a star-studded lineup of collaborators including Janet Jackson, Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, Lizzo, Kehlani, Megan Thee Stallion, Cash Cobain, and Tyla. As she prepares for her tenth year since achieving mainstream success with “Bodak Yellow,” Cardi B continues to balance the demands of a rapidly evolving career with the personal connections that remain central to her life.
The sold-out Madison Square Garden shows represent a significant milestone for the Bronx-born rapper, but the logistical headache of fulfilling countless ticket requests underscores the complex realities of fame and the enduring importance of community.
