Car & Van Collision Injures Three Near České Budějovice | Czech Republic News

A collision involving a passenger vehicle and a delivery van near České Budějovice, Czech Republic, resulted in injuries to three individuals on Saturday afternoon, shortly after 5:00 PM local time. Emergency responders worked to extricate one patient who was trapped inside a vehicle.

Milan Bajcura, a spokesperson for the Czech police, confirmed the incident occurred on a heavily trafficked road leading from České Budějovice towards Hluboká Castle and onward to Týn nad Vltavou. Firefighters were dispatched to free a person pinned within one of the vehicles.

Kristina Vrkočová, representing the regional emergency medical services, detailed the extent of the injuries. One patient sustained severe injuries to both upper and lower limbs. “We administered pain medication and secured her on a vacuum mattress,” Vrkočová stated. A second woman suffered moderate injuries to her chest and head, while a male patient sustained only minor injuries.

Vrkočová confirmed that all three individuals were conscious and not in life-threatening condition at the time of transport. Emergency crews transported the patients to the nearest trauma surgery center for further treatment.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released further details.
