Car Crash in Ovidiu: Two Injured, Multiple Cars Damaged
A late-night traffic incident in Ovidiu, a city within Constanța County, Romania, left two young men injured and a string of parked cars damaged on Friday night. The incident occurred on Poporului Street, according to a statement released by the Constanța County Police Inspectorate.
Police reported that a 24-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with seven parked automobiles. Both the driver and his passenger, a 16-year-old male, sustained injuries. The driver suffered serious bodily harm, while the passenger’s injuries were classified as minor, the police stated.
Due to his medical condition following the crash, the driver was unable to undergo a breathalyzer test at the scene, authorities confirmed. An investigation is underway to determine the precise circumstances that led to the accident.
The incident comes as the Constanța County Police Inspectorate prepares to host an open house event on Saturday, March 21st, in Piața Ovidiu, Constanța. The event, marking National Police Day in Romania, is intended to showcase police equipment and allow citizens to interact with officers from various departments, including special operations and traffic police. The event was scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, but a recent communication from the IPJ Constanța indicated a possible rescheduling due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The police inspectorate’s website currently features a press release regarding the incident, alongside other recent reports, including the execution of a warrant and details of traffic sanctions issued on March 20th. The website also promotes a newsletter for updates on police activity.
