Rogers into custody at approximately 7:00 p.m.after he “started being disruptive in the Senate Galleries.” The incident occurred during a lull between speeches by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
Rogers’s outbursts, which included shouting “you people are awful,” appeared to target Republican lawmakers. Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA), who was presiding over the session at the time, repeatedly called for the Sergeant at Arms to restore order [[1]].
