Caorle to Embrace a Whimsically Grinchy Christmas in 2025
Following a hugely successful 2024 event that drew over half a million visitors – including a strong contingent from Austria, Germany, and across Europe – the charming coastal town of Caorle is gearing up for another magical Christmas season. “Caorle Christmas Time” will return from December 6th, 2025, to January 6th, with a delightfully mischievous twist: the Grinch!
This year’s festivities will center around “Chinonsò,” a unique Christmas village nestled in Caorle’s historic center, entirely inspired by Dr. Seuss’s iconic green character. Prepare for a playfully topsy-turvy experience where the spirit of christmas is viewed through the eyes of its most famous curmudgeon.
The town will be transformed into a vibrant, immersive film set, complete with stunning installations, brightly colored buildings, and engaging theatrical performances. Visitors, playfully dubbed ”Nonsochì” inhabitants, will have the chance to encounter the Grinch himself, enjoy his witty observations, and participate in fun-filled games and treasure hunts designed to spark reflection on the true meaning of the holidays.
The event is a collaborative effort between Confcommercio Portogruaro Bibione caorle (through Ascom Servizi Srl), the Municipality of Caorle, and the Caorle Città dello Sport Foundation. It’s quickly becoming a highlight of the winter season in Northern Italy, extending Caorle’s tourism beyond the customary summer months.
“We’re excited to welcome back the many visitors who choose our Christmas Village for a festive escape,” says Tourism Councilor Mattia Munerotto. “Caorle Christmas Time embodies joy, wholesome entertainment, and a party of our local traditions, flavors, and products.”
Expect beautifully illuminated squares, a transformed seafront resembling an enchanted wonderland, captivating artistic displays, and a flavorful array of traditional food and wine offerings, including the popular Fisherman’s Village with its charming huts. Caorle is ready to once again share its unique Christmas magic with visitors from Italy and throughout central Europe.
