Canovee Cruise Into Premier JFC Final With Dominant Win Over Inniscarra

Canovee Cruise Into Premier JFC Final With Dominant Win Over Inniscarra

October 10, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Canovee secured a comprehensive 3-13 to 0-10 victory over Inniscarra in the Premier Junior Football Championship semi-final on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Macroom, advancing to the county final.

Path to the County Decider

Playing with purpose from the outset, the Carrigadrohid-based side returned to the big stage after falling short in the semi-final last season and losing to neighbours Kilmurry in the 2024 final. According to preview coverage from gaacork.ie, Canovee arrived following group-stage wins over St Nick’s and Na Piarsaigh—highlighted by a 4-16 to 0-8 victory—alongside a draw with Kilmacabea.

Inniscarra advanced to the semi-final following group-stage victories over Urhan and Glenville, followed by a 1-16 to 1-6 quarter-final win over Millstreet, as detailed by gaacork.ie. Despite fielding Cork hurler Sean O’Donoghue, Inniscarra could not contain their opponents under the lights in Macroom.
