Seth Rollins says Becky Lynch missed action due to fractured vertebra
Seth Rollins revealed on the Rich Eisen Show that Becky Lynch missed several months of in-ring action due to a small fractured vertebra in her back, keeping her sidelined from wrestling for approximately six weeks.
Lynch Returns After Vertebrae Fracture
Lynch had been away from World Wrestling Entertainment programming for most of the summer, having last wrestled on the June 8 episode of Raw. According to Rollins, the injury involved a small fracture rather than a complete break. “She had a little fracture in one of her vertebrae, so she was out of action. She couldn’t wrestle for six weeks or so,” Rollins stated during the interview. Lynch made her return at SummerSlam, declaring her intention to target the Women’s World Championship after Liv Morgan retained the title over IYO SKY.
Vaquer Wins Title as Lynch Faces Morgan
Stephanie Vaquer subsequently defeated Morgan for the Women’s World Title at a house show in Santiago, Chile on September 12, with Lynch serving as the special guest referee. During that match, Lynch stopped a three-count by Morgan and gestured toward her before Vaquer executed an SVB and a Vaquer Inferno to secure the pinfall victory.
Lynch and Morgan faced off in a No. 1 Contender’s Match on Monday’s episode of Raw. The bout ended in a disqualification following outside interference from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Vaquer entered the ring to thwart the interference, but Lynch accidentally struck Vaquer while attempting to target Morgan. Following the incident, Vaquer demanded a Triple Threat Match from General Manager Adam Pearce, who made the bout official for Money in the Bank.
