According to a report from startpage referencing the AAF, a Senior Editor serves as a guardian of editorial integrity, upholding standards of accuracy and consistency. This level of scrutiny is expected in reporting on events of this magnitude.

The role of a Senior Editor, as described by Manatal, includes managing a team of editors and enforcing editorial guidelines to ensure quality across all content. What we have is particularly relevant as news organizations work to provide accurate and timely information during a crisis.

An article on Academia Stack Exchange notes that the Editor-in-Chief generally holds the highest-ranking position in a journal and is responsible for all published content, but the specific roles of other editors can vary significantly between publications.
