SINGAPORE – The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) concluded its 2026 Canada-Asia Conference (CCEA2026) in Singapore on February 11, 2026, bringing together over 700 business leaders, policymakers, researchers and innovators from Canada and the Indo-Pacific region, according to a press release issued February 13, 2026.
The conference, the fourth hosted by APF Canada in Singapore, focused on three key pillars: food security, energy security, and infrastructure. Discussions centered on building resilient partnerships between Canada and Asia through policy alignment, investment, and cross-border collaboration, despite a backdrop of geopolitical disruption and economic uncertainty.
High-level government representation included Canada’s Minister of International Trade, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, the Honourable Gan Siow Huang, and the Honourable Victor Fedeli, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. The participation of provincial ministers underscored the importance of Canada-Asia engagement at both the national and sub-national levels.
“In a rapidly evolving world and an increasingly uncertain future, the imperative to establish diversified supply chains with collaborative and reliable partners is felt across Asia and Canada alike,” said Jeff Nankivell, President and CEO of APF Canada. “During this year’s CCEA, we heard, clearly and strongly, that we have no choice but to act. We witnessed a collective determination to move quickly and boldly to establish and strengthen relationships with partners who share ambitions and interests on both sides of the Pacific. And we learned that there is a real appetite across the Indo-Pacific to take a fresh look at what Canada and Canadians have to offer their partners in this post-pandemic world.”
The CCEA2026 also addressed cross-cutting themes of geopolitics, investment, and technology, examining global challenges and emerging opportunities through the lens of Canada-Asia collaboration. Fifteen related events were held with partners in conjunction with the conference at the Raffles City Convention Centre.
APF Canada acknowledged the support of the Government of Canada and its principal partner, Global Affairs Canada, as well as numerous academic and corporate sponsors, including Air Canada, CIBC, and Shell. Universities Canada was recognized as the CCEA’s founding partner.
