A manhunt is underway in California after Isaiah Jamon Andrews, a suspect in a Seattle homicide, was mistakenly released from the Contra Costa county jail. Authorities are searching for Andrews, who was awaiting extradition to Washington state, after discovering his release was an error.
The accidental release has triggered a multi-agency response,with the US Marshals Service leading the search adn local law enforcement notified. Andrews,27,is wanted in connection with the 15 October shooting death of a 20-year-old man in the northgate neighborhood of seattle. He had been arrested earlier this month by California police and identified as a suspect by Seattle authorities.
Andrews was being held at the Martinez detention facility pending transfer to King county, Washington, when the error occurred. the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and Seattle Police Department have been contacted for further information regarding the circumstances of the release and the ongoing investigation.
