“Macabre Teddy Bear” Prank Sparks Panic, Leads to Arrest
Victorville, CA – A chilling finding at a local petrol station sent shockwaves thru the community and triggered a critically important police response, only to be revealed as an elaborate prank. Hector Corona Villanueva, 23, has been arrested and charged with planting false evidence and causing an emergency after leaving a disturbing creation designed to resemble a teddy bear made of human flesh at an AMPM service station on Sunday afternoon.
The bizarre object’s discovery prompted a full-scale police examination and a coroner’s examination, leading to the temporary closure of the petrol station and widespread unease among residents who feared a serial killer might be at large.the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s office confirmed on Monday that the “bear” was not constructed from any human body parts, officially labeling the incident a “prank.”
Villanueva was identified and taken into custody on Monday. The motive behind the unsettling display remains unclear, though the sheriff’s office stated that the investigation into who left the item is ongoing. Officials emphasized the drain on valuable emergency resources and the potential risk to public safety caused by such incidents, which can delay response times to genuine emergencies.Adding another layer to the story,South Carolina artist Robert Kelly has claimed obligation for creating the macabre figure. Kelly, who specializes in horror creations for Halloween and film, told US media that he recently sold the unique piece to a buyer in Victorville.”Every artist wants credit for their work, so I said ‘I made that’,” Kelly stated, noting that he had no knowledge of the buyer’s intentions for the bear and was not involved in the prank. His work, often sold through Etsy, features items designed to resemble construction from human body parts.
