California Fitness & Yoga temporarily closes two clubs
California Fitness & Yoga has announced the temporary closure of two fitness club locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City while the company operating the club brand undergoes dissolution proceedings. The closures affect the Cali Mac Plaza in Hanoi’s Ha Dong district, shuttered from October 9 to October 31, and the Cali Tower in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cau Kieu district, closed from October 10 to October 31 due to operational issues.
The latest closures follow earlier disruptions across the network. The California Hung Vuong Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City suspended operations from September 16 to October 16, while the SC VivoCity branch halted operations from September 21 to October 21 for operational adjustments.
Dissolution Proceedings at Centuryon Fitness Company Limited
Updated data in the National Business Registration Portal shows that Centuryon Fitness Company Limited, represented by legal representative Dane Roy Fort, is undergoing an official dissolution procedure. Founded in August 2014, the company’s registered address sits at Royal City, Mega Vincom on Nguyen Trai Street in Hanoi’s Thanh Xuan district, which also houses the Centuryon California fitness branch.
Centuryon operates as a premium fitness club tier within the broader California system, offering access to Diamond, Centuryon, and California Active clubs nationwide. Members at this tier receive daily complimentary robes, towels, a drink from the Centuryon menu, and bottled water. In March, the Centuryon branch inside Saigon Centre closed its sixth, seventh, and eighth floors for extensive renovations, with no official reopening date announced.

Meanwhile, Centuryon branches in Westpoint, Hanoi, and Landmark 81, Ho Chi Minh City, remain open. Members have expressed frustration over the suspension of VIP towel and beverage services alongside the Centuryon counter from September 29 to October 19, prompting management to invite members to bring their own water bottles and towels or pause their memberships for up to 30 days free of charge.
Earlier in July, California permanently closed four clubs: AMU and GVC in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside PCH and CPT in Hanoi. These closures leave the chain with 20 active locations—seven in Hanoi, ten in Ho Chi Minh City, and one each in Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, and Dong Nai. This count represents a steep drop from March data published by Q&Me, which recorded 34 operating branches.
California Introduces New Fees for Selected Classes
Alongside facility closures, California introduced new fee structures for specific GroupX and Yoga classes. While standard free classes remain tied to existing membership tiers without extra charges, the system added a 20,000 VND per session fee for selected classes starting October 12. Iconic and Centuryon members are subject to the same fee for designated classes.
The company stated that the adjustments aim to maintain course quality, optimize resources, and fund ongoing member training investments. The policy applies strictly to classes clearly marked as fee-based in the schedule via the official website, CaliLife app, and club kiosks, leaving participation optional for members.
What Remains Unresolved Across the Network
Conflicting notices continue to create uncertainty for club members relying on official updates. On the evening of October 9, members received text messages stating that the Cali Tower studio would remain open normally, while the official website maintained that the facility was temporarily closed. Direct inquiries to the customer service hotline provided no clarity on the operational status of both affected locations.
