Cal Varsity rugby Announces 2025-26 Competition Schedule
BERKELEY, CA – The California Golden Bears rugby team unveiled its schedule for the 2025-26 season today, featuring a mix of challenging road contests and highly anticipated home matches at Witter Rugby Field. The schedule culminates with the D1A National Collegiate Championships in April and May.
The release of the schedule provides players, alumni, and fans with a roadmap for the upcoming season, signaling the start of preparations for a championship run. Cal rugby consistently ranks among the nation’s elite programs, and this schedule is designed to test the team against top competition as they pursue another national title. All home games will be played at Witter Rugby Field in Berkeley, California, with kickoff times to be announced at a later date.
The Bears will kick off their season on September 6, 2025, with a home game against Stanford. Following this, they will travel to Los Angeles to face UCLA on September 13, 2025. The team returns to Berkeley for a match against Central Washington on September 20, 2025, before hitting the road again to take on Oregon State on October 4, 2025.
The fall schedule continues with a home contest versus Life West on October 18,2025,and a trip to face grand Canyon University on November 1,2025. Cal concludes its fall campaign with a home game against Utah on November 8, 2025.
The spring portion of the schedule begins with a home match against Navy on March 7, 2026, designated as Homecoming and a reunion for National Champions. The following week, on March 14, 2026, the Bears will travel to West Point, New York, for a contest against Army. A road game at Saint Mary’s in Moraga, California, is scheduled for March 28, 2026.
The D1A National Collegiate Championships will take place throughout April and May 2026, beginning with the First round on April 11, followed by the Quarterfinals on april 18, the Semifinals on April 25, and culminating in the national Championship match on May 2, 2026.
