Brentford Braces for Potential Departures of Key Players
Mbeumo’s Future Uncertain Amidst Manchester United Interest
Brentford is currently in discussions with forward Bryan Mbeumo, and there remains a possibility he will remain at the club, according to director of football, Phil Giles. The Cameroonian international is drawing significant interest from Manchester United, who have had two offers rejected for the striker. The second offer was reportedly worth up to £62.5 million.
Mbeumo, 25, is reportedly keen on joining United, and sources indicate he has communicated this to the West London club. Giles, speaking recently, indicated that there hasn’t been substantial progress regarding a potential deal.
“He had a fantastic season. We expected big interest in him, we have had big interest in him.”

Giles explained that Mbeumo is entitled to pursue his career goals, adding it is not impossible he will stay at Brentford. A recent report from the CIES Football Observatory revealed that the average transfer value of Premier League players increased by 15% over the past year (CIES Report).
Norgaard Close to Arsenal Move
Meanwhile, Giles also confirmed that captain Christian Norgaard is close to joining Arsenal. Last week, the two Premier League clubs agreed to a fee – believed to be up to £15 million inclusive of add-ons – for the Danish midfielder. Giles stated, “We have been in conversations with Arsenal for the last week to 10 days. As it stands it hasn’t been completed yet but it is heading in that direction.”
Giles further stated, “If that happens for him then fantastic, he’s earned it. He’s been a brilliant captain for us. Let’s see how that story ends but we are pretty open about that interest there.”
