Netflix’s “Bridgerton” retained its position as the most-watched series on the streaming platform for the week of February 2 to February 8, attracting 23.4 million views with the first four episodes of its fourth season, according to Netflix data released Tuesday.
Despite “Bridgerton’s” continued dominance, the debut of “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 4 marked a significant performance for the legal drama, garnering 9 million views during the same period. This figure represents an increase in viewership compared to the third season’s premiere, signaling growing audience engagement with the series, and prompting a renewal for a fifth season.
The success of “The Lincoln Lawyer” comes as the series navigates a complex narrative in its fourth season, inspired by Michael Connelly’s novel “The Law of Innocence.” Co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez described the season as having “signature twists” and a blend of suspense, humor, and heart, with Mickey Haller, portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, finding himself as the client in a case that threatens his life, and reputation.
The premiere of “Bridgerton” Season 4 also spurred renewed interest in previous seasons of the period drama. Season 1 reached No. 5 on the Top 10 list with 3.5 million views, even as Season 3 placed eighth with 3 million views. This indicates the series’ ability to maintain a substantial audience base across its multiple seasons.
Cobie Smulders, Sasha Alexander, and Constance Zimmer have joined the cast for Season 4 of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” adding further star power to the series. The remaining four episodes of “Bridgerton” Season 4 are scheduled to debut at the end of February, at which point viewership comparisons will become more direct.
