Brian Daboll Seen in New Jersey Following Giants Dismissal
New Jersey – Former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll was spotted in snowy New Jersey on Tuesday, marking his first public appearance since being fired by the team on Monday.
Daboll, 50, was photographed leaving his residence bundled in grey pants and a navy blue Penn State hoodie. The sighting comes after the Giants’ latest defeat – a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday – and a disappointing tenure overall for the coach who once revitalized the franchise.
The Giants parted ways with Daboll after a 20-40-1 record over his four seasons. While he earned Coach of the Year honors following a playoff berth in 2022, the team has struggled to maintain success, currently holding a 2-8 record for the third consecutive season.
“the past few seasons have been nothing short of disappointing, and we have not met our expectations for this franchise,” co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch said in a joint statement. “We understand the frustrations of our fans, and we will work to deliver a considerably improved product.”
Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has been named interim head coach. General manager Joe Schoen, hired alongside Daboll in 2022, will remain in his position.
