Police Launch Manhunt After Sexual Assault During Morning Jog in Suffolk
Stowmarket, Suffolk – Police are conducting an urgent search for a man following a sexual assault on a woman during her morning run in Stowmarket, Suffolk. the incident occurred between 5:45 and 6:00 AM on Wednesday along a pathway off Iliffe Way.
The victim, a woman in her thirties, was approached and assaulted while jogging. Suffolk Police are describing the suspect as a white male, approximately 5ft 10in tall, of medium build. He was wearing a dark woolly beanie hat, a thick, dark rain jacket, and dark trousers. Police reported the suspect smelled strongly of cigarettes and cannabis.
“This was an extremely distressing incident for the woman who was simply out for a morning run when she was attacked,” said Detective Inspector Stuart Dolan-Allen of Suffolk Police. “we understand this may concern the local community and we want to assure the public that we are investigating all lines of enquiry to identify the man responsible.”
An increased police presence is expected in the area as officers continue their inquiry. authorities are specifically appealing to dog walkers,commuters,and other runners who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the assault to come forward with any information.
The victim is receiving support from specialist officers.
