The best terrace in Brabant can be found in Reek. Catering business De Linde has been ranked tenth in the Netherlands’ Terrace Top Hundred. Owner Tom Van de Geijn expressed his surprise and pride: “There are approximately four hundred terraces considered, so this was a mega surprise, and I am incredibly proud.”

The annual list is compiled by Misset Horeca.A total of fifteen Brabant terraces made the list,with De Linde leading the way.

Despite relatively quiet conditions on Tuesday due too less-than-ideal weather, a group of cyclists from Twente where enjoying coffee and cake at the award-winning terrace. Unaware of the ranking, they wholeheartedly agreed with the assessment: “It was grate, wholly great,” one cyclist remarked.

“The service was incredibly friendly, and they have delicious cakes,” another member of the group added, concurring with De Linde’s high ranking. A woman in the group shared, “It was wonderful; I really enjoyed it. We didn’t know this was the best terrace, had never heard of it. But tomorrow!”, she said with a laugh.

“We do our best, with genuine hospitality.”

Manager Tom van de Geijn was genuinely surprised by the high ranking.He and a portion of his team attended the awards ceremony in Baarlo, Limburg, last year: “We knew we were in the top hundred, but as your name isn’t called, the anticipation builds.”

When asked about the secret to their success, Tom explained, “We take our profession very seriously and strive for excellence every day. We do our best, with genuine hospitality.It requires a lot of effort, as the jury is very strict.”
