Booker T Says He Would Change WrestleMania 19 Finish
In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, former professional wrestler Booker T addressed his high-profile WrestleMania 19 loss to Triple H, stating that while it remains the only match finish he would change, there was never any discussion of him winning the match in 2003. Booker held the WCW Championship five times before WrestleMania 19.

Booker acknowledged the intense fan support heading into the event. Booker told Chris Van Vliet on Insight that a victory was never talked about. I knew so many people wanted me to win, and I love those people for it,
he said.
Reflecting on the personal significance of reaching the main event, Booker emphasized that the milestone itself represented a major triumph given his background. He noted losing his father at 10 months old and his mother at 14, followed by dropping out of school and spending time in prison before breaking into professional wrestling. Booker stated that headlining WrestleMania served as proof of his journey to becoming one of the best wrestlers in the world, even though he fell short of securing his sixth world title that night. Any kid that’s looking at it, I needed them to understand I’m that kid that went through all that trial and tribulation, but yeah, found myself being one of the best wrestlers in the world, in the main event at WrestleMania, I came that close to winning my sixth world title,
he noted, adding that But there again, I’ve never gone into any match thinking that.

Booker remembered a WWE office staffer passing him in the hallway after the event and stating that Booker should have won the match that night. Booker later captured his sixth world title in 2006 under his King Booker persona, and currently works for WWE NXT as a color commentator.
