Blue Jays Injury Update: Bichette’s Health Concerns Ahead of ALDS

Blue Jays‘⁤ Bichette Injury a Growing‍ Concern as ALDS ⁤Continues

BRONX, NY -⁤ October 6,⁢ 2025 ‍ – Toronto Blue Jays shortstop⁢ Bo Bichette’s availability for a potential ALCS appearance is increasingly uncertain, according to observations from MLB ⁣insider Ken Rosenthal. ⁢Despite the Blue Jays taking‌ a 2-0 series lead⁣ over the New York Yankees‌ in the ALDS,‍ bichette remains ⁤sidelined with a ‌late-season knee injury⁣ and shows limited mobility.

Bichette, who‌ tied⁣ for second ⁤in MLB with 181 hits ‍across just 139 games this season, was left off the‍ ALDS roster due to⁤ the injury. While fans hoped for a swift return should the⁤ Blue Jays advance,Rosenthal’s assessment suggests a longer recovery timeline.

“In ‍my opinion, [the Blue Jays] have to be concerned,” Rosenthal stated on Foul Territory. “It’s not so much what I’m hearing, but what I’m seeing being by their dugout. He‍ is not walking like⁢ a guy who is fully healthy. He’s got ⁣a bit‍ of a limp.”

Rosenthal further noted that, to his knowledge, bichette has not yet begun running and “doesn’t seem to me‍ that he’s all that close”⁣ to returning to game action.

The Blue Jays have compensated for Bichette’s absence by producing 23 runs in the‌ first two games of the ALDS, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Daulton Varsho, and Alejandro Kirk each‍ hitting two home runs in the‌ series.

The ⁣ALCS is scheduled to begin on Sunday, ⁣providing Bichette with several days to recover. Though, Rosenthal’s report casts‍ doubt on his potential return, even if the Blue Jays eliminate the Yankees.

Toronto will attempt to close out the ALDS on Tuesday⁢ night at Yankee‍ Stadium, with Shane⁤ Bieber starting for the ⁣Blue Jays and‌ Carlos Rodon taking the mound for the Yankees.
