HOUSTON – Texas rap collective 600 Entertainment, led by BigXthaPlug, is aiming to bridge regional divides with its upcoming mixtape, 6WA, and its lead single of the same name. The track, which premiered exclusively with Rolling Stone on February 27, 2026, draws heavily from the sonic landscape of West Coast hip-hop, paying homage to California rap pioneers.
BigXthaPlug, who rose to prominence with his 2023 album Amar and subsequent EP The Biggest, is using the platform to elevate his label’s roster. 600 Entertainment includes fellow Texas artists Ro$ama, Yung Hood, Murdagang PB, KevanGotBandz, and KaineMusic. “We’re trying to express ourselves in our own words. To let them know what we’ve been through and what we’ve overcome, and where we came from,” BigXthaPlug stated, according to a press release accompanying the single. “We all have the same mission and the same goal.”
The music video for “6WA,” directed by Jerry Morka, showcases the group’s embrace of Texas’s tradition of extravagance, featuring customized, vintage automobiles. The single features verses from BigXthaPlug, Ro$ama, Yung Hood, and Murdagang PB, and is positioned as a statement of unity within the Texas rap scene.
6WA, the mixtape, is slated for release on March 20 and features a cover art style reminiscent of N.W.A’s 1989 album Straight Outta Compton. The project boasts collaborations with established artists Snoop Dogg and the D.O.C., a Dallas-born rapper who found success on the West Coast. This mixtape follows 600 Entertainment’s 2024 release, Meet the 6ixers, and signals the label’s ambition to become a leading force in Texas hip-hop, potentially following in the footsteps of influential labels like the Screwed Up Click and Swishahouse.
