Bari International Film & TV Festival Opens Submissions for 2026 Edition
BARI, ITALY – October 1, 2024 – The Apulia Film Commission Foundation today announced the opening of film submissions for the Bif&st 2026 – Bari International Film & TV Festival, scheduled to take place in Bari from March 21-28, 2026. Filmmakers have until February 5, 2026, to submit their projects with free registration.
The festival, under the artistic direction of journalist and film critic Oscar Iarussi and supported by the Puglia region, aims to “take the south, the sea and the Mediterranean as areas and cultural landscapes of reference,” according to festival organizers. The overarching goal is to leverage “the universal language of culture and cinema to build bridges, relationships, cooperation between peoples and among the communities.”
Bif&st 2026 will feature both competitive and non-competitive sections. Competitive categories include: Meridiana, an international competition focused on Euro-Mediterranean cinema; For italian Cinema, a national competition for Italian works and co-productions; and I’ll be short, showcasing Italian and international short films (maximum 30 minutes) with a public-voted prize.
Beyond the competitions, the festival will offer a diverse cultural program including retrospectives, TV series screenings, thematic focuses, previews, film restorations, tributes, and special events, alongside opportunities to meet and honor prominent figures in the film industry.
