Andrea Bindi, a 48-year-ancient lawyer from Biella, Italy, died Friday after suffering a sudden illness while on a ski vacation in Pila, Valle d’Aosta. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, they were unable to revive him, according to reports from La Stampa and La Provincia di Biella.

Bindi was known in Biella for his work in civil law, and also practiced in the criminal justice system. He was actively involved in local politics as a member of Fratelli d’Italia, having run in both municipal and neighborhood elections as part of the Identità e Territorio del Centro list.

The mayor of Biella, Marzio Olivero, expressed his sorrow at Bindi’s passing. “Sometimes, if possible, death appears even more incomprehensible and unacceptable, senseless, unjust, evil; this happens especially when it comes prematurely and unexpectedly, unmotivated, sudden,” Olivero stated, according to La Provincia di Biella. He also conveyed condolences to Bindi’s family, specifically mentioning his daughter Corinna, daughter Marika, father Marco, and sister Marianna.

Bindi’s father, Mario Bindi, is a retired veterinarian who was well-known in the province for establishing one of the first veterinary operating rooms for companion animals. The lawyer had previously experienced family tragedy with the loss of his mother in an accident.

Details regarding the cause of death remain unconfirmed, though initial reports suggest a possible heart attack. Funeral arrangements are pending, with the body expected to be returned to Valle d’Aosta before services can be scheduled.
