Berlin Motorways Reopened: Police Investigate Power Outage Arson

Berlin police are​ conducting an⁣ operation⁢ believed ⁢to be connected⁣ to the arson ‌attack on electricity pylons in Köpenick’s Johannisthal neighborhood in mid-September, which triggered the largest power outage in Berlin as the end of World War II. The September ⁤14th attack left approximately⁤ 50,000 customers of state-owned Stromnetz ⁣GmbH without power‍ for up to 60 hours. Berlin’s Interior Senator Iris Spranger (SPD) stated following the incident that⁤ a⁤ letter of confession published online was considered​ authentic by investigators.
