Belarusfilm and Bashkortostan studio sign cooperation agreement
National film studios from Belarus and Bashkortostan signed a cooperation agreement in Minsk on November 1, establishing new joint frameworks for audiovisual production, staff training, and the wider promotion of regional cinema.
Production Agreements and Joint Projects Signed in Minsk
The formal signing ceremony took place in Minsk, uniting leadership from Belarusfilm and the Amir Abdrasakov Film Studio of Bashkortostan, deu.belta.by reported. The partnership targets the development of cinematography alongside coordinated efforts to popularize films across both territories. The agreement specifically encompasses the organization of film production and the creation of joint cinematic projects.
Dmitry Semyonov, general director of Belarusfilm, described the agreement as a vital milestone covering production support and direct experience sharing. Das ist der erste Punkt der Zusammenarbeit, die nicht nur Unterstützung bei der Filmproduktion, sondern auch den Austausch von Erfahrungen einschließt,
he noted. He also pointed out that the Bashkortostan studio operates across three core formats: animation, documentaries, and feature films.
Plans for initial collaborative efforts include reciprocal film weeks, giving Belarusian audiences direct exposure to Bashkir cinema while screening Belarusian works in Bashkortostan. Junir Aminov, director of the Bashkortostan film studio, thanked organizers for the invitation to Minsk and outlined broader ambitions. He specifically praised the organization of the event, remarking, Das Filmfestival ist sehr gut organisiert, und Minsk ist eine wunderbare Stadt.
Animation Ambitions and Historical Feature Plans
Aminov emphasized that the cooperation extends into full-length and short-form animation. He also revealed discussions regarding a prospective feature film centered on Mingali Shaymuratov.
The ongoing Listapad Film Festival provided the logistical backdrop for the agreement, drawing industry professionals to Minsk for screenings and educational seminars.
Semyonov added. Both studio heads pointed to these cultural exchanges as the practical foundation for upcoming co-productions, ensuring that students and working professionals alike share technical and creative expertise across borders.
