‘Beautiful and talented’ young woman found dead in bed by police a YEAR after her death

Police discovered​ the body of a ⁤”beautiful adn talented” young woman in her bed⁢ a year after her death,an inquest heard.⁢ Chloe McDaid, 20,​ from Wallsend, North Tyneside, was found unresponsive at her home on February​ 12, 2023, but the circumstances surrounding her death remained unexplained until a second post-mortem examination.

The⁢ initial inquiry, conducted ⁤in February last year, found no obvious cause of death, leading to a lengthy wait for toxicology results and a⁤ second post-mortem. north Tyneside CoronerS Court was told the ‍second examination revealed‌ Chloe died ⁢as a‌ result ⁤of ⁣sodium​ valproate toxicity – a⁣ medication prescribed for epilepsy and bipolar disorder. The hearing heard Chloe had not been taking the medication‍ as prescribed.Area Coroner Karen Harland recorded a narrative conclusion,stating Chloe died consequently of sodium valproate toxicity,but could not conclude whether this was intentional.

Chloe’s family described her ⁣as a vibrant and ‌creative individual who had recently completed a degree in ⁤performing arts. ‍Her mother, Lisa McDaid, paid⁣ tribute ‍to her ​daughter, saying: ⁢”Chloe was⁢ a beautiful and talented⁤ girl with a bright future.⁣ She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed.”

The inquest heard Chloe had struggled‍ with her mental health and had previously sought help.⁣ She had been diagnosed with emotionally unstable​ personality disorder and had a history of self-harm. However, the court was told there was no evidence to​ suggest she ‌was actively suicidal at ⁢the time of her death.
