Free Skin Cancer Screenings offered in Beaune, France Amid Rising Rates

Beaune, France – Residents of Beaune and the surrounding Côte-d’Or region have the opportunity to receive free dermatological screenings on Wednesday, June 25th, as part of a new sun protection awareness day organized by Les Hospices Civiles de Beaune. This initiative comes as skin cancer rates continue to climb globally, prompting increased efforts in preventative care and early detection. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70.

Event Details and Objectives

The event, a collaboration between Les Hospices Civiles de Beaune, a local dermatologist, the Côte-d’Or branch of the Ligue against Cancer, and the CPTS sud Côte-d’Or, aims to educate the public about the importance of effective sun protection and provide access to professional skin checks. Activities will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the forecourt of the Beaune hospital center.

Free dermatological screenings will be conducted by appointment only, between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM, and again from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.These screenings are specifically intended for individuals considered at risk who do not currently have an ongoing dermatological follow-up. Appointments must be made no later than Monday, June 23rd, via email at info.beaune@ligue-cancer-cotedor.fr.
