bayern Munich Eye Early Contract Extension for Key Defender Konrad Laimer
MUNICH - FC Bayern Munich are reportedly planning to offer Konrad Laimer a contract extension, according to a report in Bild.The 28-year-old defender has been a consistent performer for the record champions for over two years and is considered “a key player for the future” by sporting director Christopher Freund.
Laimer’s current contract is valid until 2027, but initial discussions regarding an early extension have already begun. A modest increase to his current salary of nine million euros is anticipated, wiht a new agreement possibly finalized this year.
The Austrian international has become a versatile asset for Bayern,contributing six goals this season – four in the Bundesliga and two in the Champions League. Manager Vincent Kompany praised Laimer’s “stability and flexibility,” noting his ability to impact the game both defensively and offensively with his “intensity.” Laimer himself acknowledged his adaptability, stating, ”It’s one of my strengths that I can adapt. I feel comfortable in many roles.”
