DICE and EA report blocking 330,000 cheating attempts on the first day of the “Battlefield 6” (now known as Battlefield 2042) open beta, highlighting the ongoing battle against unfair play in the popular first-person shooter franchise. The beta, which ran from November 6th to November 9th, 2021, served as a crucial testing ground for anti-cheat systems ahead of the game’s full launch on November 19th, 2021.
Electronic Arts’ anti-cheat team has underscored the importance of player reporting as a key component in their efforts to maintain game integrity. Submitting reports directly through the in-game scoreboard and player profile interface allows the team to rapidly identify and disable cheating software, and to uncover emerging cheating networks and tools. This proactive approach complements the technical measures implemented by DICE, the game’s developer, based in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Battlefield 2042 open beta provided access to the conquest mode on the Exposure map, allowing players to experience a slice of the game’s large-scale combat.Details regarding participation timeframes and requirements were previously covered in a 4Gamers report available here. EA has committed to continuous refinement of anti-cheat measures to ensure a level playing field for all players.
