Lyon, France A deeply personal and ‍musical exploration of teh life and artistry of iconic French singer Barbara is currently captivating audiences across France, spearheaded by⁢ performers rafaèle ‌Huou⁣ and Philippe Mangenot.Their production, “le Conte ‌d’Hiver” ⁤(“Winter’s ⁣Tale”), isn’t a biographical‌ retelling, but rather ⁤an immersive journey through Barbara’s world, utilizing her songs as a narrative core.

This unique theatrical experience arrives as​ renewed⁤ interest in Barbara’s⁤ poignant songwriting and intensely private persona⁣ continues to grow. The ‌production offers a fresh outlook for longtime fans and an accessible entry point for new listeners, illuminating the emotional⁢ depth⁤ of her work. “Le ‌Conte d’Hiver” is poised to resonate​ with⁢ anyone touched by themes of love,loss,and the enduring power⁤ of ‍music.

The‍ production‌ credits reveal a​ collaborative artistic⁤ team: Philippe Mangenot serves as narrator and director/scenographer, while Noé‍ Mangenot contributes as part of the choir. Music‌ is composed by Tom Georgel​ and Sébastien Jaudon, with ​piano ⁣performance shared between them. Mireille Dutrievoz handles ‌lighting design, and Eric Dutrievoz manages⁣ general operations, sound, and video. Camille Germser designed the Barbara-inspired set.

“Le Conte d’Hiver” is a production of Théâtres de ‌l’Interwar period, ‍with co-production support from Allegro and the Miribel Theater (01).⁤ Funding⁣ is provided by CNM, Adami, the City of Lyon,⁤ the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and Spedidam. Creation​ residences were held at Renaissance Théâtre (Oullins), Théâtre des Marronniers (Lyon), ‌and‍ Théâtre​ allegro (Miribel).Performance dates and ⁤locations include: October 11 at Champagne at ⁢mont ⁤d’Or;‍ October 14 & 15 at Renaissance‌ Théâtre in‍ Oullins (69); October 16 &⁣ 17 at Théâtre du ​Parc in Andrézieux-Bouthéon (42); October 18 ‌at St Brévin⁢ les Pins (Festival Les Murmures du Vent); november 17 & 18 at the Atrium of Tassin (curtain leans); January 9 & 26 at the Jean Moulin ​cultural space in Mions⁢ (69); ‍January 31 & 26⁣ at the Barbara area in Bonson (42); March 6 & ⁤26 at ​BRISCOPE DE BRIGNAIS (69); March 13 & 26 at​ Tarare theater (69); and March 19 & ‍20 & 26 at St‌ Marc / Lyon space (69).
