The leader of pro-Khalistan group “Waris Punjab De”, Amritpal Singh, and his associate Papalpreet Singh are believed to have fled Punjab and stayed at the home of Baljit Kaur in Kurukshetra’s Shahbad town. Kaur was taken into custody by Haryana Police, who then handed her over to the Punjab Police on suspicion of giving the pair shelter. Baljit Kaur is understood to have been in contact with Papalpreet for two years, and her brother reported the sheltering of the men to the police. Meanwhile, Amritpal apparently changed his appearance, donning a turban and moustache and taking an auto at 9.40 pm from Hardy’s World in Ludhiana.
