Austria Records Historic Win,Arnautović Becomes All-Time Top Scorer
Vienna,Austria - October 9,2025 – Austria achieved a resounding 10-0 victory over San Marino in a World Cup qualifier tonight,marking the nation’s largest-ever win and witnessing Marko Arnautović etch his name into Austrian football history.
The 36-year-old forward scored four goals in the dominant performance, bringing his total to 45 for the national team.This surpasses the previous record of 44 goals held by Toni Polster.
Austria quickly took control of the match, scoring their first goal within seven minutes. The goals continued to come throughout the game, overwhelming San Marino’s defense.

With five matches played, Austria currently leads their qualifying group with fifteen points, two points ahead of Bosnia-Herzegovina, who also secured a win against Cyprus following a late equalizer from Ioannis Pitta.
