The Augusta Municipal Golf Course, widely known as The Patch, will reopen to the public on Wednesday, April 15, following a comprehensive 16-month renovation. The project has delivered significant upgrades to the facility, including a redesigned 18-hole course and the addition of a new nine-hole short course, The Loop at The Patch.
The renovation, led by golf course architect Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, aims to provide an accessible and affordable public golf experience for the Augusta community. Local residents will be able to play the 18-hole course for $25 Monday through Thursday and $35 Friday through Sunday. The Loop at The Patch will be available to local residents for $15. Full pricing details, including rates for various resident categories, military personnel, seniors, and juniors, are available on the course’s website, GolfThePatch.com.
Beyond the course redesigns, The Patch now boasts a 17-acre practice facility equipped with Trackman Range technology, featuring 20 covered bays. A 12-hole putting course is likewise available to the public at no cost, offering a free option for golfers of all skill levels to practice and enjoy the game.
A soft opening is planned for mid-March, granting limited access to local community groups, including regular players and high school golf teams. During Masters Tournament week, the course will host private hospitality events before fully opening to the public on April 15.
The Loop at The Patch was specifically designed by Tiger Woods and his TGR Design firm, adding a unique element to the Augusta golfing landscape. According to reporting from The Augusta Press, the upgrades to the city golf course were undertaken with assistance from Augusta National and Tiger Woods.
The First Tee of Augusta will resume its regular activities at The Patch on May 1. Tee time bookings will be phased in, starting with limited availability and gradually increasing to full capacity throughout the summer months. Booking instructions will be released at a later date, according to course officials.
