Attorney General Paxton to Speak at Event Supporting Targeted Students

HOUSTON, TX – texas‍ Attorney‍ general Ken Paxton will address students from stratford High School in Houston this Wednesday, September 24,⁣ who were⁤ publicly targeted after initiating a local chapter of Club America, turning Point USA’s high school program. The ⁣event, held at‍ The Moran Hotel​ at⁤ CITYCENTRE, comes after private group messages discussing⁤ the new club and potential sponsors were posted​ on social media, prompting a campaign to pressure‌ those​ sponsors.

The students faced backlash when screenshots of their conversations were⁤ shared ‌online, and a radical activist allegedly ⁣encouraged ⁣others to contact‌ potential‍ sponsors in an attempt to halt the club’s formation. Attorney⁣ General Paxton will speak in support of the students, emphasizing the importance of First Amendment rights and defending freedom of association.

The event will take place ‍in the La Scala ‌Ballroom ‌on the first ‍floor‌ of The Moran Hotel at CITYCENTRE, located at 800 Sorella Ct., Houston, TX, 77024. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. CT, ‍with the program ​beginning at 7:30 ​p.m. CT.⁢ Event organizers will prioritize entry for students, and the event is open to the public.
