Ouédraogo Nets Debut Goal for germany in Record Time
Mainz, Germany – Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouédraogo marked his debut for the German national team wiht a goal just two minutes into the match against Slovakia, becoming the fourth-fastest goalscorer on their first appearance for Die Mannschaft.
The historic moment places Ouédraogo in elite company, trailing only Gerd Müller (1975 against Luxembourg, 1:2), Dieter Müller (1976 against Yugoslavia, 4:2), and Erich Hänel (1939 against Luxembourg, 1:2) who all found the net quicker on their Germany debuts. Ouédraogo’s goal also elevates him among Germany’s youngest-ever goalscorers. Nagelsmann praised Ouédraogo’s resilience, stating, “I’m very happy that he’s healthy, he’s already had a period of suffering and has had to go through some valleys.
