Asian Markets Open Lower on Tuesday

Equity markets across asia began Tuesday’s trading session with a downward trend.
Japan’s nikkei 225 index experienced a decline of 0.61%,while the broader Topix index fell by 0.76%.
In South Korea,the Kospi composite index was down 1.09%,and the smaller Kosdaq market saw a decrease of 0.88%.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 also registered a loss, trading 0.42% lower.

Anticipated Opening for Asian Markets
Markets in Asia were anticipating a weaker start to trading on tuesday.
Futures for Japan’s Nikkei 225 indicated a lower opening, with Chicago futures at 40,920 and Osaka futures at 40,820, compared to the index’s previous close of 40,998.27.
Hong Kong’s hang Seng Index futures were positioned at 25,367, suggesting a softer opening than its last closing value of 25,562.13.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was also projected to begin the day lower, with futures at 8,606 against a prior close of 8,697.70.

US Stocks Close Mixed on Monday
The S&P 500 index finished monday’s trading session with minimal change, as a recently announced trade agreement between the united States and the European Union did not considerably boost market sentiment.
The S&P 500 edged up by 0.02% to close at 6,389.77. The Nasdaq Composite saw a gain of 0.33%, ending the day at 21,178.58. The dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 64.36 points,or 0.14%, to settle at 44,837.56.

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that a worldwide baseline tariff is likely to be implemented within the range of 15% to 20%. This measure is expected to impact imports from nations that have not yet finalized separate trade agreements with the United States.
“For the world, I would say it’ll be somewhere in the 15 to 20% range … I just want to be nice,” Trump stated during a joint appearance with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He further elaborated, “I would say in the range of 15 to 20%, probably one of those two numbers.”
