Arsenal tracking Antonio Nusa as Ødegaard encourages move

November 6, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Arsenal are tracking RB Leipzig attacker Antonio Nusa ahead of the January transfer window, according to the London Evening Standard, as Mikel Arteta moves to strengthen his attacking ranks.

Odegaard Leads Pursuit as Talks Progress

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard is actively trying to convince his international teammate to join the club, with club-to-club and agent talks already held, according to Yardbarker. Journalist Mark Brus reported in The Daily Briefing that Ødegaard has been encouraging the winger to consider a move to north London based on their time together on Norway duty. Nusa has recorded four goals and six assists in eight Bundesliga games this season after ending the previous campaign with four goals and three assists in 31 league games.

Arsenal Targets January Deal Despite Leipzig Valuation Resistance

While reports indicate that Arsenal believe they can negotiate RB Leipzig’s £60m price down to roughly £45m, securing a deal in January will prove difficult because Leipzig view the 21-year-old as a key player and are not in a rush to sell. Nusa has three years left on his current contract, meaning the Gunners may ultimately need to wait until the summer transfer window to finalize an agreement. Nusa is also on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar.

Auditioning on the European Stage

Nusa strengthened his reputation during a recent Champions League fixture against Manchester City at the Red Bull Arena, where he scored in a 3-2 defeat. Pain in the Arsenal highlighted that the forward completed two dribbles, created four chances, and played 73 minutes against a very good standard of opposition, providing scouts with a direct look at his abilities on the wing.
