Armed Man Arrested at Charlie Kirk Memorial Site,Charged with Impersonation
Glendale,Arizona – An armed man was arrested at State Farm Stadium in Glendale,Arizona,the site of a memorial service for slain Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk,authorities confirmed. The man was taken into custody by the arizona Department of Public Safety and faces charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a weapon in a prohibited place.
According to a statement, the individual identified himself as law enforcement and stated he was armed. He was later arrested and booked into Maricopa County Jail before being released on bail.
the memorial service is scheduled to draw large crowds, including US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA (TPUSA), clarified in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the man was providing advance security for a guest attending the service.
“this individual was doing advance security for a known guest planning to attend the memorial service tomorrow,” Kolvet stated. “We do not beleive this person was attempting anything nefarious, however the advance was not done in proper coordination with the TPUSA security team or US Secret Service.” Kolvet added that the incident occurred before the stadium was fully secured and that precautions are being taken to ensure safety.
Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10th at an event at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah, has been charged with aggravated murder, weapon offenses, and obstruction of justice in connection with Kirk’s death.
State Farm Stadium,home of the Arizona cardinals NFL team,has previously hosted the Super Bowl.
