Armani‘s Private Funeral to Be Held in Milan, Limited to 20 Attendees
Milan, Italy – A private funeral for fashion icon Giorgio armani will be held in Milan, wiht attendance strictly limited to 20 people, sources confirmed Sunday.The intimate ceremony follows two days of public mourning at the Armani Teatro, where over 6,000 people paid their respects to the “king of fashion” on Saturday alone.
The public viewing, which began Saturday and continues sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., has drawn large crowds to Via Bergognone, with lines reportedly longer on Sunday than the previous day. Attendees have been laying white roses and bouquets of flowers in tribute.The Armani group has closed its Milan headquarters, shops, and restaurants in Europe as a sign of respect.
Among those attending the public viewing Sunday were Ludovico Einaudi, luisa Lusardi (Max Mara), actor Enrico Lo Verso, Attilio fontana, president of the Lombardy Region, Fabio Fognini, Flavia Pennetta, former Rome mayor Francesco Rutelli, and Barbara Palombelli. Rutelli recalled a conversation with Armani about unifying Italian brands,to which Armani responded,”impossible.” Marco Tardelli, accompanied by Myrta Merlin, described Armani as an “authentic, generous man close to people.”
