Ardabil Airport Hits Record Low of -27°C, Coldest in Iran

Ardabil⁣ Airport in⁣ northwestern Iran registered the country’s lowest temperature overnight,plummeting to -27 degrees Celsius⁤ (-17 degrees Fahrenheit),according to the Ardabil Province Meteorological ‌Organization.

Sadegh⁢ Kouhi,Director general of the Ardabil Meteorological‍ Organization,confirmed that the ⁣extreme cold made the airport the coldest location in Iran during the period.Mehr News Agency reported the details on January 26,‌ 2024.

A severe cold wave continues to impact much of Ardabil province, accompanied by significant⁤ snowfall in mountainous adn rural areas. Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution due to⁢ the sustained low temperatures, icy road conditions, and potential disruptions to transportation and daily life.
