Ardabil Airport Hits Record Low of -27°C, Coldest in Iran

Ardabil⁣ Airport in⁣ northwestern Iran registered the country’s lowest temperature overnight,plummeting to -27 degrees Celsius⁤ (-17 degrees Fahrenheit),according to the Ardabil Province Meteorological Organization.

Sadegh⁢ Kouhi,Director general of the Ardabil Meteorological‍ Organization,confirmed that the ⁣extreme cold made the airport the coldest location in Iran during the period.Mehr News Agency reported the details on January 26, 2024.

A severe cold wave continues to impact much of Ardabil province, accompanied by significant⁤ snowfall in mountainous adn rural areas. Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution due to⁢ the sustained low temperatures, icy road conditions, and potential disruptions to transportation and daily life. Tasnim News Agency also covered the weather event, highlighting the warnings issued to the public.

Residents are advised ⁢to take necessary precautions, including dressing warmly, avoiding unnecessary travel, and ensuring vehicles are properly equipped for winter conditions. Local authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise.
