Futuroscope’s new indoor water park, Aquascope, is experiencing overcrowding and lengthy wait times, particularly for popular slides like the Matrix, according to recent visitor reviews.
Opened last year, Aquascope has quickly gained recognition, winning awards from The World Waterpark Association in Las Vegas and the Themed Entertainment Association in Orlando. The 6,000 square meter facility boasts eight slides, a dedicated children’s area, and an outdoor beach with pools, all maintained at a consistent water temperature of 29°C. The park features four themed universes and Europe’s first aquatic cinema, “Les Abysses de lumière,” which utilizes video mapping technology.
Despite the innovative features and positive initial reception, a growing number of visitors are reporting significant queues, especially during peak seasons and midday. The TripAdvisor reviews highlight the Matrix slide as a particular bottleneck.
Aquascope offers a variety of experiences, including family-friendly four-person slides and more adrenaline-inducing solo options. The “La Faille de Kraki” area caters specifically to younger children, featuring a water maze and slides guided by the character Kraki.
Currently, Futuroscope is offering special deals, including up to 30% off combined tickets for both Futuroscope and Aquascope, valid from February 7th to April 3rd, 2026. Two-day, one-night breaks combining park access, an evening show, hotel accommodation, and breakfast are available from €126.50 per adult.
Located in Poitier, central France, Aquascope is positioned as a convenient stop for travelers between northern ferry ports and the south of France, and is also accessible by direct flights from London and Edinburgh. The park is less than two hours from La Rochelle and the Charente Maritime coast.
One visitor described Aquascope as a “water park on steroids,” praising the variety of slides and the indoor setting, which provides respite from both rain and intense heat.
