Aqua Stars Buy Neighboring Luxury Apartments

Former couple invests millions in Copenhagen high-rise.

Divorced Aqua bandmates **Lene Nystrøm** and **Søren Rasted**, known for the hit “Barbie Girl,” are making headlines again—this time in real estate. The pair have each purchased luxury apartments in Copenhagen, becoming neighbors years after their split.

Aqua Stars as Neighbors

**Søren Rasted**, 56, and **Lene Nystrøm**, 51, were bandmates who secretly dated before marrying in Las Vegas in 2001. After 16 years of marriage, they announced their divorce in 2017 via Instagram, stating: “It was difficult to make the decision to be separated, but it is a decision we have made together. We continue as good friends, good partners and not least with the main focus on the best for the children.”

Despite the split, **Nystrøm** and **Rasted** have maintained a close friendship. Now, they will be living next door to each other on the 23rd floor of an exclusive high-rise in Carlsbergbyen, Copenhagen, according to Se og Hør.

Lavish Living

Each apartment is around 100 square meters, featuring four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a three-square-foot balcony. The units boast brand-new interiors. Real estate prices in Copenhagen have risen sharply in recent years, with luxury apartments seeing some of the most significant increases (Global Property Guide).

**Søren Rasted** reportedly paid just over 11 million Danish crowns (approximately 17.6 million Norwegian kroner) for his apartment, while **Lene Nystrøm** spent slightly more, around 11.2 million Danish kroner (approximately 17.9 million Norwegian kroner).

A Lasting Bond

The pair’s friendship remains strong. When **Nystrøm** turned 50, **Rasted** posted a tribute on Instagram, writing: “Congratulations to the world’s most beautiful ex -wife, mother of our children, friend and colleague with 50 years. Since we two met for the first time almost 30 years ago, you have been my life companion – and the absolute greatest gift I could have wished for in my life.”

**Rasted** also acknowledged the many years of music, travel, and shared experiences. He added, “You have always been there for me, in good and bad times – and always set the goal higher than yourself, and I will humbly try to repay it.”
