CHP San Jose to Host Free Applicant Preparation Workout & Info Session – December 9th
SAN JOSE, CA - November 21, 2024 – Individuals aspiring to join the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will have a valuable opportunity to prepare for the rigorous physical demands of the job and learn more about the recruitment process at a free Applicant Preparation Program (APP) workout and information seminar on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 7:00 AM at the CHP San Jose Area office. The event, held rain or shine, is designed to assist potential applicants in preparing for the CHP Physical abilities Test.
The two-hour session combines a focused workout geared towards building the necessary strength and endurance for the CHP Physical Abilities Test with a dedicated Q&A segment. Following the physical training, attendees will participate in a classroom-based information seminar, offering a unique chance to speak directly with CHP officers and gain insights into the hiring process and life at the CHP Academy.
“The APP workouts are a fantastic resource for anyone seriously considering a career with the CHP,” explains a CHP spokesperson. “They provide a realistic preview of the physical challenges and offer a direct line of communication with our officers.”
What to Expect & What to Bring:
Attendees are advised to come prepared for a physically active session.Recommended items to bring include:
* A personal yoga mat
* Appropriate workout attire: a white shirt,black shorts,and running shoes (clothing should be free of inappropriate logos or text)
* Water to stay hydrated

Arrival Instructions: Upon arrival, attendees should line up at the gate next to the building. Access will be granted as a group at the scheduled start time.
